File service for K-TAG

Bench and boot reads from K-TAG you upload as open files and get back with the checksum corrected – the way K-TAG can write them. Typically within minutes, around the clock.

How it works with K-TAG

  1. Read out with K-TAG

Bench on the table or boot directly on the ECU, depending on the protocol. Read the complete file – whatever K-TAG delivers as a full read – and save it unchanged.

  2. Upload

Attach the open file, choose vehicle and ECU, state bench or boot as read method, tick the services. The cost is shown live next to the form. If K-TAG delivers several files for one read, pack them into a .zip.

  3. KENBot or by hand

Stage 1 and most options are processed automatically by KENBot, around the clock, typically in four minutes. Whatever the automation does not know, I do by hand on weekdays between 9 am and 6 pm. You see the status on the order.

  4. Write back

The file comes back in the same format, checksum corrected in the file, ready to write with K-TAG. With several files only the one holding the maps is modified – the others stay as they are. The original stays saved on the order.

What to keep in mind with K-TAG

Checksum in the file

K-TAG files come back with the checksum corrected. You write the file as it arrives – no checksum step of your own.

Typical read errors

Loose contact on the bench adapter, voltage too low, wrong protocol in boot mode – the result is a file that looks complete and is not. Reading twice and comparing rules that out before you upload.

What belongs in the note

Read method (bench or boot), hardware changes, existing third-party software, gearbox type for gearbox orders, customer wishes. And for reads with several files: which ones you uploaded.

Prices. One token is one Stage 1. Options on top of a stage from 0.25 tokens, credit never expires, not feasible means the token comes back. All prices and packages

Questions about K-TAG

Does the file service correct the checksum for K-TAG?

Yes. The file comes back with the checksum corrected and can be written directly with K-TAG. Nothing to recalculate on your side.

Can I have a K-TAG boot read processed?

Yes. Boot reads are usually complete and therefore the best basis. Upload the file as K-TAG saves it, as a .zip if there are several files. It comes back in the same format.

How long does a K-TAG file take?

Automatic orders – Stage 1 and most options – typically four minutes, around the clock. Manual work on weekdays between 9 am and 6 pm, usually the same day. You see the status on the order and get a message as soon as the file is ready.
